Moving to Dallas TX? Where should you live?

Relocating to Dallas?
This is a great video highlighting the many areas that make Dallas a spectacular place to live!


Dallas has a lot of great places to live but lets dive a little deeper into the entertainment districts that this video is touching on.

Arts District: This area is what gives Dallas its reputation as an Arts mecca. The district is around 68 acres of award winning architecture and home to entertainment giants such as the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) Nasher Sculpture Center, The Trammell Crow museum for Asian Art, Clyde Warren Park, Winspear Opera House, At&T Plaza, The Dallas Symphony, The Wylie Theater and the Booker T. Washington School for Performing Arts. You will find a large array of family friendly events and simulating events catered to a more adult audience. Food trucks gather daily at Clyde Warren Park between the hours of 11am-2pm. While your there catch a yoga class on the lawn! If your too busy for day time events be sure to check out Late nights at the Dallas Museum of Art. The arts district is normally very active during the day and late at night. 

Bishop Arts District: This is a much smaller arts district that was once just two blocks of warehouse space in South Oak Cliff that is now known for having highly inspired organic dining and boutiques to seek out the inner funk in us all. Expect vintage, expect unique, expect organic independently owned. 

Deep Ellum: This is the home of Dallas's live music scene and visual arts. Deep Ellum is also thought of as Dallas's birthplace of Jazz but you will also notice a strong nod to R&B, Alternative, Hip hop and good old rock and roll. This area is going to feel like New Orleans and Soho. Be sure to check out a few of the musical venues such as Tree's and club DaDa

Design District: Interior Design Studios, Showrooms oh my! This is a small pocket located just outside of the uptown area off Slocum Street. As one of Dallas's newest areas the design district will have your keep your fashion forward friends on their toes! You can find upscale antiques, art galleries and exceptional dining (at reasonable prices) 

Downtown: This is a truly vibrant area full of 4 star dining, upscale shopping and full service high rises. If you are looking to live in a condo this is the place to be. Enjoy tours of Reunion Tower and marvel at the classic architecture mixed in with new modern buildings. Many of the buildings change its lighting every night so rest assured that views will be spectacular and ever changing!  

Greenville Ave. This is one of the most popular districts! Lower greenville is home to many eclectic restaurants and bars. You will find this part of town booming also most every night. This is a very popular area to live and play. It is also close to an area known as the "M Streets". Which basically means that you live near Greenville on a street thats name starts with an "M". If you love nightlife than this is the place for you!

Highland Park: This area is famed for its sprawling estates, custom housing and a phenomenal school district. If your home is in Highland Park school district then expect a hefty boost on your home value. Located very near the SMU campus, Dallas Love Field and just outside of downtown many executives working downtown choose to live in Highland Park. You will find most homes ranging from 800k to the multi million. If you are able to snatch up a home in the 600k price range TAKE IT AND RUN!  

Knox-Henderson: Home of the famous Katy Trail. Many joggers enjoy Katy trails 3.2 mile jogging paths and outdoor lifestyle. There is no shortage of 5k runs and outdoor events as the trail is very popular among the locals. Most of the city's Hipster crowd lives and plays here. You will find many gastropubs and vintage shops, spas and many salons.

Oak Lawn: This is just outside of highland park and known mostly for it eclectic atmosphere . Every color of the rainbow can be found here and is know to be one of the liveliest entertainment districts.

Uptown: This is the area surrounding Main Street. Think of Main St. as the main street of the uptown area. (No pun intended!) Take a free ride up and down uptown on the Mckinney Avenue trolley! This is a beautiful and very walkable area. Many people park their cars, catch a movie at the Magnolia theater, enjoy fine dining and end up at a trendy bar. The shopping is also upscale and features up and coming trends at the West Village shopping center.

West End: This is Dallas's tourist area. Its historical, it features great views of the skyline and where you can visit the Hard Rock Cafe, Dicks Last Resort or the 6th floor museum and stand where JFK was shot. There are many great photo opportunities in this area so if you are just visiting Dallas you MUST stop here. 

Victory Park: Home of the Dallas Mavericks, the Dallas Stars Hockey team and The W Hotel and Residence! (and a stop for many major recording label artists) This is the glamourous party of Dallas. Very chic condominium building scrape the sky and look over the finest landmarks from all of Dallas's districts. (W Residence, Cirque, The HOUSE, Homeowners in this area are walking distance to The House of Blues, the Perot Museum (and if you've never seen the Perot museum from the sky then you have not seen the museum!)  Victory Park is a master planned community that runs along 35E as part of the Stemmons and uptown corridor. Its powered completely by renewable energy and is one of the first in the area to invest in renewable energies. It is connected to the rest of the city by the Dart lightrail and the trinity railway express. So you can easily get from Plano TX or Ft. Worth without driving! This area was once known for its shut down power plant and landfills but has since undergone a massive 3 billion dollar (and 10 year long) voluntary clean up by the Hillwood  Dev corp, Hicks Holdings and many local residents.
